چکیده

Abstract In this study, the influence of varying temperatures on transport behavior conservative solutes in heterogeneous porous media has been investigated. Column flow experiments employing potassium bromide as tracer were conducted at four temperature levels (3°C, 10°C, 20°C, and 30°C) measured electrical conductivity (EC) signal was interpreted through inverse modeling. Additional performed with deuterium‐enriched water 10°C 30°C. For those experiments, deuterium isotope ratios analyzed alongside anion cation concentrations. Obtained EC‐based breakthrough curves showed measurable differences both observed peak values tailing intensities that could be clearly attributed to variations experimental temperatures. The results further corroborated by corresponding anion/cation concentrations, although less pronounced. model‐based interpretation employed standard advection‐dispersion equation well three alternative variants all based single‐rate dual‐domain mass transfer (DDMT) approach, but embracing coupling between experiments. parameters determined for EC, bromide, deuterium, respectively. estimated ranges point toward a direct correlation effective DDMT rates temperature. directly follows Arrhenius relationship, is weaker than one describing dependence molecular diffusion coefficients, therefore pointing contribution non‐diffusive components.

Heat and Mass Transfer in Industrial Biscuit Baking Oven and Effect of Temperature on Baking Time

This research deals with heat and mass transfer in biscuit industrial baking ovens. In these ovens, heat reaches biscuits indirectly by radiation, convection and conduction. The method for numerical solution is that we first provide the related equations, then they are discretized by finite difference method (FDM), and finally, after encoding and writing a program for the computer, we run it. T...

Mass Transfer Effects during Meat Ultrasonic Brining

Mass transfer processes in meat brining can be enhanced by taking advantage of the effects produced by high intensity ultrasound. Pork loin slices were immersed in a saturated solution of NaCl at 2 oC during 45 minutes. Different conditions of agitation of the solution and different levels of ultrasound intensity were applied during brining. Ultrasounds were applied with a probe system and the ...

Mass Transfer Mechanism and Mathematical Model for Extraction Process of L-Theanine across Bulk Liquid Membrane

This paper deals with the extraction of L-Theanine containing Aliquat 336 as a carrier and cyclohexane as solvent across bulk liquid membrane. The optimum operation condition are as follows: extraction time of 150 min, initial concentration of theanine in the feed phase is 1.8 g/L, the carrier concentration is 0.5 M, the ion of the receiving phas...

NUMERICAL MODELING OF CHARRING MATERIAL ABLATION WITH CONSIDERING CHEMICAL REACTION, MASS TRANSFER AND SURFACE HEAT TRANSFER EFFECTS

Presently there is a little information that relates to heat shield systems.  Also this information is not certain in so many cases.  The main reason is that accurate calculations for measuring the sacrificing rate of various materials have not been obtained yet.  Additionally, the real scale test has two disadvantages: high cost and low flexibility, and for each case we must perform a new test...

On the generalized mass transfer with a chemical reaction: Fractional derivative model

In this article using the inverse Laplace transform, we show analytical solutions for the generalized mass transfers with (and without) a chemical reaction. These transfers have been expressed as the Couette flow with the fractional derivative of the Caputo sense. Also, using the Hankel contour for the Bromwich's integral, the solutions are given in terms of the generalized Airy functions.
